The VS-300 Sensor Management Console The VS-300 Sensor Management Console (SMC) software supports all the functions of VS Series sensors and is available as a standalone Windows application, a Windows based network application, a Windows CE application or in the near future a Web network based application. The software is intuitive and easy to use. The design goal for the Sensor Management Console is for the QA/QC professional to be able to display and access sensor data anywhere on the companies network. Windows CE version of VS-300 SMV in operation The VS-300 SMC allows for the on-line management and instantaneous data representation of the sensor output. The Sensor Management Console allows the user to see the output from the sensor graphed over time in concentration of the components to be measured. It also has a digital display of the Concentration of process component. It allows the user to create a data log file so that the data can be recorded over time. It allows the user to set the specifications for the component level of the product being manufactured so that it can be visually monitored over time. The algorithm includes a temperature correction and uses the sensor calibration files located in the sensors eeprom to give a linear output of component concentration. The VS-300 Sensor Management Console establishes a two way communications link with the VS-VS Series sensor, reads the eeprom, does a check sum to make sure the data from the sensor is not corrupted and converts the output from the digital sensor to concentrations of the product components being measured. The VS-300 SMC also displays the data on a chart in an X bar R format with settable values for the product specification limits and control limits. The data display is green when the data is within the control limits, yellow when it is outside the control limits and within the specification limits, the data is red when the data is outside the specification limits. These limits can be used for process control when the VS-300 console is setup in a PLC bus environment.
